Our Brands: Kraus and EcoTeas

Kraus Organic and EcoTeas yerba mate are both produced in the Kraus farm located in the northeastern Argentinean province of Misiones. The Kraus family is a third-generation family farm that has been cultivating the best yerba mate since the beginning of the 1900’s. They care for the environment and this is why their yerba mate production is certified organic and sustainable. As Milton Kraus states “…we believe that natural products are the best and this is why we only use natural herbs; no artificial preservatives or flavors are added in our products. We take pride in our product and we work hard to produce the best. We want to give you the best yerba mate so you can enjoy it with us!"

EcoTeas www.ecoteas.com) is a company founded by friends Stefan Schachter, Brendan Girard and Joe Chermesino from Oregon (USA). They wanted to improve the world and thought a good start would be an organic yerba mate company. At the beginning, they ran the business out of their living room, blending herbs in their kitchen. They served mate tea at farmer's markets, festivals, and local grocery stores while playing a game of chess. Later Stefan met with the Kraus family and loved their organic yerba mate. It was the best yerba mate he had ever tasted!. The connection between Stefan and the Kraus family grew solidly and they formed a partnership with EcoTeas to help supply North America with their exquisite yerba mate.

EcoTeas is part of the Fair-Trade Federation who have pledge to make a fair-trade deal with producers in developing countries promoting sustainable development including reforestation of the rainforest in Misiones.
